First Meeting of the Year!

Oak Town 4-H Families, our first meeting of the new year will be this coming Monday, September 12 at 6:30pm. We will try to be set up a bit ahead of that for taking in the forms and fees to complete the enrollment process and will continue, outside on the patio at Dimond Recreation Center, through the meeting.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION & PROCESS
Hopefully BEFORE the meeting you will have 
  • Online registration  submitted 
  • Signed up for a volunteer task (if you're not already a Project Leader.....for parental units, not kids) here:  https://california.4honline.com/Manager/Club/MemberConfirmList.aspx

BRING TO THE MEETING 9/12 6:30pm
  • Medical Release and Health History Form (2-sided form- make sure both sides are complete) for each child AND volunteer registering
  • County Agreement: ONE per family
  • Club Expectations: ONE per FAMILY
  • FEES: $65/year for youth members, $15/year for Adult Volunteers

ONCE the enrollment is complete (ALL forms and fees in AND online registration complete) you can fill out the Project Selection Form and turn it in.

MEETING INFORMATION
The officers have a great meeting lined up. They are asking that all members who went to the Alameda County Fair this summer bring ONE thing that they exhibited and want to show people. If you attended but did not exhibit, bring something that shows one of your fair experiences.

There will also be 
  • Games
  • Refreshments
  • News on Upcoming Events
  • Special Primary 4-H (for youth  5-8 and those not wanting to sit through the "Business" portion of the meeting)
  • Community Service to benefit SPCA

What: Bring your own picnic, we will provide dessert

Club Members... Get Ready for OakTown 4-H Club's Officer Elections!

OakTown 4-H Club Members will elect officers for the 2015–2016 year at the May Community Club Meeting. Positions are available for youth 9 and up. Must be able to commit to an additional monthly meeting as well as help out at club meetings and activities. Job descriptions and expectations are available in the PDF below. 

If you are interested in running for an office come to the May meeting prepared to speak about your interest and qualifications.

Meeting Theme: Wear Your Sports Jerseys or Sports Hats

The March Oak Town 4-H Meeting will be Monday, March 9 from 6:30PM–7:45PM at Dimond Recreation Center. Our Club Officer Team has put together another fun meeting for you with an exciting guest speaker.

  • Community Service: Spring Basket Supplies Drive benefitting Oakland's Operation Dignity
    • Please bring: large spring baskets, paper grass, small new toys, books, stuffed animals, candy, personal care items (children's toothbrushes, tooth paste, shampoo, combs, brushes)
  • Program: Native Bees! Guest Speaker is Sara Leon Guerrero from Urban Bee Lab, UC Berkeley
  • Primary Project: Constructing Bee Hotels
  • March Birthdays Celebration with Jacob and Chloe
  • Games with our Recreation Team
  • Snacks: WHO SIGNED UP????
  • Door Prizes (we will limit the number of tickets in circulation this month!)
